Kate began her social work journey
when she realized at an early age that
she has a passion for learning about
people. She found that her desire to help people feel heard and assist people in identifying personal goals were clearly in line with the social work model. Kate started her career attending San Diego State University where she obtained her Bachelors degree in social work  and was trained in motivational interviewing.  She then when on to obtain her Masters degree in social work from Rutgers University.

Following Rutgers Kate began working in the women's program at Princeton House Behavioral Health (a program specializing in trauma, mental health, addiction, and personality disorders) where she became  extensively trained in DBT and trauma treatment. Here, Kate realized she had a strong connection with working with trauma and addiction clients and later obtained her drug and alcohol certification.

Kate describes her style as non-judgemental, informal, compassionate, encouraging, solution oriented, and straight forward. She works to balance the idea of acceptance and change and believes that all clients have the internal tools to be successful in personal goals. She has seen that a  collaboration between client and therapist is the most effective way to achieve client's desired results, and feels that her dedication to her clients is evident in her work. She looks forward to getting to know what you hope to obtain by coming to therapy!

~ Able to provide phone sessions to clients on a limited basis who are unable to come into the office.
